USA: Puget Sound Energy (PSE) has partnered with the City of Lacey under the 2025 Matching Rebate Programme to increase financial support for homeowners replacing natural gas heating systems with electric heat pumps. Under the initiative, Lacey will match PSE’s existing rebate of USD 4,000 (EUR 3,700), providing income-qualified households with a combined rebate of up to USD 8,000 (EUR 7,400). The programme is part of Lacey’s Climate Action Plan and aims to encourage residents to transition to cleaner and more efficient home heating systems.
Eligibility for the rebate is limited to single-family PSE natural gas customers using a gas-forced air furnace, boiler, or wall heater as their primary heating system. Multifamily buildings, new constructions, and commercial properties are excluded. Homeowners within Lacey’s city limits must complete retrofit installations by 12 December and submit rebate applications through PSE’s digital portal by 19 December 2025. The city stated that eligible applicants would automatically receive the matching rebate without filing a separate application.
