Jordan Launches Solar Rebate Initiative for Residential Installations
Jordan: The Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has introduced a new rebate program for residential photovoltaic (PV) systems and solar thermal collectors. The program will cover up to 30% of the costs for purchasing and installing rooftop PV systems or solar collectors, with a total funding of JOD 8 million (USD 11.2 million). The initiative aims to support the installation of 4,000 PV systems and 5,000 solar thermal systems. The Jordan Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund (JREEEF) will finance the scheme, which operates under the country’s net metering regime.
