USA: Johnson Controls a global leader in energy efficiency, decarbonization, and thermal management solutions, has entered into an agreement to acquire Alloy Enterprises, a Boston-based innovator specializing in next-generation thermal management platforms for high-performance data centres and mission-critical industrial applications. This acquisition is expected to strengthen Johnson Controls’ position and capabilities in the rapidly expanding data centre cooling market.
Established in 2020, Alloy Enterprises has developed a proprietary platform featuring advanced direct liquid cooling components that can improve thermal efficiency by up to 35%, enhance heat removal, and reduce pressure drop by up to 75%, enabling smoother fluid flow and significantly lowering overall cooling energy consumption. The acquisition enhances Johnson Controls’ thermal management portfolio and supports its strategy to deliver advanced, differentiated cooling solutions for data centres. Alloy’s proprietary manufacturing processes, designed to improve liquid cooling efficiency for GPUs, CPUs, memory, and networking systems, will complement Johnson Controls’ existing portfolio, which includes high-capacity chillers, scalable liquid cooling platforms, and energy-efficient absorption chillers aimed at improving performance and sustainability in mission-critical environments.
