Cambodia: Japanese companies involved in the air conditioning and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) sector are exploring potential opportunities in Cambodia's cooling industry, as reported by Japanese media. Leading firms such as Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, and Panasonic, along with other manufacturers including Hitachi, Fujitsu General, and Toshiba Carrier, are among those showing interest. The growing population, rising household incomes, and increasingly high temperatures linked to climate change are seen as contributing factors behind this interest.
Daikin, in announcing its new facilities in Cambodia, referred to the country as a market with potential, citing anticipated population growth as a key driver. The company also projected that Cambodia’s HVAC market could expand by approximately 10 percent annually over the next five years.
