Increased Funding Announced for Low-Carbon Heat Pump Installation in Jersey
UK: The government has increased funding for residents transitioning from fossil fuel heating systems to low-carbon heat pumps. Matched funding is now available up to GBP 9,000 (USD 11,300), raised from GBP 5,000 (USD 6,300). Additionally, low-income households can access grants of up to GBP 15,000 (USD 18,900) without requiring matched contributions, compared to the previous maximum of GBP 10,000 (USD 12,600).
To offset this increase, grants for other heating technologies, such as flow boilers and panel radiators, have been reduced from GBP 5,000 to GBP 4,000 (USD 5,000). This initiative seeks to lower greenhouse gas emissions from heating systems, which significantly contribute to Jersey's carbon footprint.
