HVAC Exports to EU Rise on Strong Cooling Demand

Türkiye: Türkiye's climate industry exports to the European Union increased by 22.9% year-on-year to USD 302.5 million (EUR 257.1 million; USD 302.5 million) in June, supported by higher demand for cooling systems as Europe experienced another period of elevated summer temperatures. According to data from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Germany remained the largest export market with shipments of USD 71.4 million (EUR 60.7 million; USD 71.4 million), followed by Italy at USD 30.5 million (EUR 25.9 million; USD 30.5 million), France at USD 28.3 million (EUR 24.1 million; USD 28.3 million), Poland at USD 23.7 million (EUR 20.1 million; USD 23.7 million) and Spain at USD 23.0 million (EUR 19.6 million; USD 23.0 million). Exports also recorded strong growth in several other European markets, including Finland, Croatia, Latvia, Luxembourg and Malta.

Industry representatives attributed the increase to rising demand for energy-efficient cooling systems, heat pumps, ventilation equipment and industrial cooling solutions across Europe and other export markets. They also noted that growing investment in data centres, driven by artificial intelligence and digitalisation, is supporting demand for advanced cooling technologies. The rise in cooling equipment demand coincides with another summer of high temperatures across Europe and the European Union's continued implementation of regulations promoting lower-emission refrigerants and energy-efficient HVAC systems.
