Hungary's Construction Sector Rebounds with 11% Growth in April
Hungary: Hungary's construction sector experienced a rebound in April, with output volumes increasing by 11% compared to the previous month. This surge compensates for the weak performance observed in the preceding two months. While the sector remains fundamentally unstable, the recent production figures and order books are not detrimental. However, the significant month-to-month fluctuations make it challenging to accurately assess the sector's overall health.
The 11% increase also translates to a 15.6% rise in construction output compared to the same period last year. Despite this, the erratic monthly performance creates a highly volatile annual index, influenced by base effects and large fluctuations. Although the fixed base time series provides some insight, numerous uncertainties remain.
