Uzbekistan: Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin on February 28 to enhance cooperation in the construction sector. Khusnullin conveyed greetings from President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Discussions focused on implementing agreements from Putin’s May 2023 visit, particularly in regional development and infrastructure. Both sides emphasized collaboration in infrastructure design, construction, and the supply of building materials and equipment, aligning with Uzbekistan’s socio-economic programs.

The meeting also highlighted experience exchange in construction, digitalization, and public procurement. Officials reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening practical collaboration.

Russia remained Uzbekistan’s second-largest trade partner in January 2025, with trade reaching $799.1 million (17.7%), up from $766.2 million in January 2024 and $691.5 million in 2023.
