Hotel Pipeline Activity Soars in Americas, Slips in Other Regions.

USA: Hotel pipeline activity increased year-over-year in every region except the Americas at the end of the first quarter, according to data released by CoStar in March. The United States currently has the greatest number of accommodations under construction in the region, amounting to 156,525 in total. The hotel pipeline has been halted until 2023, according to prior reports from CoStar. CoStar noted in its January report that the Americas was the only region to experience an increase in overall hotel pipeline activity, owing to the substantial volume in the planning phases. Global construction activity was declining, with the exception of Asia-Pacific.
