Hitachi and Anthropic Partner to Advance Physical AI and Accelerate Global AI Transformation

Japan/US: Hitachi and Anthropic PBC have announced a strategic partnership to strengthen Hitachi’s “Lumada 3.0” business model and accelerate the deployment of physical AI across mission-critical sectors including energy, transportation, manufacturing, and finance. As part of the collaboration, Hitachi will deploy advanced AI, including Anthropic’s Claude models, across business processes for approximately 290,000 employees worldwide to improve productivity and develop around 100,000 AI professionals through joint talent programs. The companies will also establish the “Frontier AI Deployment Center” across North America, Europe, and Asia with an initial team of 100 experts, expected to scale to 300 over time, to co-create physical AI use cases, enhance cybersecurity, and advance next-generation HMAX solutions for resilient and intelligent infrastructure operations.
