Haier invests US$ 290 Million in its First Thai AC Plant
Thailand: Haier, the Chinese consumer electronics and home appliance giant, has invested 10 billion baht (US$290 million) to establish its first air conditioner manufacturing plant in Thailand, aiming to capitalize on the country's rapidly growing air conditioner market, valued at over 1 billion baht (US$29 million). This new facility, Haier's inaugural factory in Southeast Asia, will be in the WHA Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate in Chon Buri province. Zhou Yunjie, chairman of Haier Group, stated that the decision to build the plant in Thailand underscores the country’s strategic geographical benefits, offering excellent connectivity to neighboring markets. The construction will be completed in three phases, with the final phase expected by 2027. The first phase, aiming for an initial annual production of 3 million units, is set to begin in September 2025, followed by the second and third phases in 2026 and 2027, respectively.
