German New Dwelling Completions Declined by 0.3% in 2023

Germany: The Federal Statistical Office of Germany announced that 294,400 dwellings were built in Germany in 2023. A decrease of 0.3%, or 900 dwellings were reported, compared with 2022.

Over the past decade, the number of apartments has increased significantly, rising from 159,800 units in 2010 to 306,400 units in 2020. The figures encompass the completion of construction for new buildings as well as renovation and construction projects on existing buildings, including both residential and non-residential structures.
