FRANCE: France will introduce new rules from 1 September 2026 directing financial incentives, including CEE and MaPrimeRénov', towards heat pumps manufactured in the European Economic Area (EEA) to strengthen European industry. To qualify, products must meet recognised certification standards and satisfy EEA manufacturing requirements, although transitional approval is available for manufacturers investing in European production within two years. As a result, some currently approved models are still assembled outside Europe, including in China. A total of 1,774 heat pump models from 28 brands have been approved for the enhanced CEE bonus. Homeowners replacing oil, gas or coal boilers in their main residence with an eligible approved model will receive increased financial support under the revised scheme.Â
