European Heatwaves Increase Demand for Turkish HVAC Exports

Turkey: Rising heatwaves across Europe are increasing demand for Turkish air conditioning and climate control systems, creating export opportunities for the country's HVAC sector. Industry representatives reported growing demand not only from southern Europe but also from central and northern European markets as higher temperatures influence cooling requirements across residential, commercial and industrial buildings. They noted that cooling systems are increasingly being viewed as essential infrastructure rather than discretionary purchases.
Industry representatives said demand is being driven by households, schools, public institutions and commercial buildings upgrading cooling and ventilation systems. Industrial sectors including pharmaceuticals, data centres and food production are also increasing investment in temperature control solutions to meet operational requirements. The shift in European supply chains, combined with lower inventories ahead of the summer season, has also created opportunities for Turkish manufacturers.
Experts added that Europe's long-term focus on energy efficiency, heat pump adoption and environmentally friendly refrigerants is expected to support continued demand. “Air conditioning has transitioned from a comfort-driven product to an essential requirement for daily life and industrial operations,” said Osman Bastas, head of the Turkish HVAC&R Exporters' Association (ISIB). He added that ISIB will continue investing in research, development and sustainable production technologies to strengthen Türkiye's position in international markets.
