EU Releases Fresh Recommendations for F-gas Certification
EUROPE: In accordance with the new F-gas regulation 2024/573, the European Commission has now released its recommendations for the minimal qualification and training standards for engineers. For the first time, the new rule requires certification and training for anybody handling "natural" refrigerants like ammonia, hydrocarbons, and CO2. The scope of the regulation has been expanded to include organic Rankine cycles and refrigeration units of refrigerated trucks, refrigerated trailers, refrigerated light-duty vehicles, intermodal containers, and train waggons in addition to stationary refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pump equipment.
