Sweden: Daikin has acquired Swedish heat pump service provider Kylslaget as part of its ongoing strategy to strengthen its service network in Scandinavia. The acquisition is expected to enhance Daikin’s residential service capacity in Sweden, support technician training programmes, and contribute to the company's broader expansion across the region. The move follows Daikin’s acquisition of BKF Klima in Denmark earlier in 2024 and builds on its existing presence in Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark. The company aims to integrate Kylslaget’s resources to improve both residential and professional service delivery across key Swedish cities, including Stockholm, Göteborg, and Malmö.
The Swedish heat pump market is among the most developed in Europe, with around 437 units per 1,000 households. This high adoption rate is supported by a favourable electricity-to-gas price ratio of 1.22 and national efforts to replace older heating systems with more energy-efficient alternatives. Heat pumps offer environmental and economic advantages by using electricity to extract renewable energy from the surroundings, aligning with Sweden’s and the European Union’s decarbonisation objectives. Kylslaget’s existing service infrastructure covers 95 percent of Swedish households, and Daikin plans to utilise this reach to further develop its nationwide service organisation.
