Carrier Targets India Growth with New Sri City Facility

India: Carrier Global has announced plans to invest USD 100 million (EUR 92 million) in a new manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, with operations expected to begin by the end of next year. The company stated that India has been its fastest-growing market over the past four years, recording growth above 20% during the period and 33% growth in the first quarter of 2026. The new facility is intended to increase production capacity for commercial HVAC products, including chillers used in data centres and commercial buildings, while also supporting expansion of the local supply chain.

The company said India currently contributes around USD 500 million (EUR 460 million) in revenue from its global business base of approximately USD 22 billion (EUR 20.2 billion), with a target to reach USD 1 billion (EUR 920 million) in India revenue by the end of the decade. Carrier also indicated that most of the commercial HVAC products sold in India are expected to be manufactured locally in the future, while the Sri City facility may also support exports to markets in Africa and West Asia. The company expects its workforce in India to increase from around 5,000 employees to approximately 6,500 over the next four years.
