Americas: Carrier reported a sharp decline in its residential HVAC business in the Americas in the fourth quarter of 2025, which the company attributed to distributor destocking, weaker housing activity, and a shift towards repairs instead of full system replacements. Residential unit volumes fell by more than 40%, while light commercial sales declined by 20%, contributing to a 17% organic sales decline in Carrier’s Climate Solutions Americas segment. Carrier said field inventories were reduced by around 30% year on year in residential and 25% in light commercial, and that channel destocking is now largely complete.
The company said replacement demand was affected by homeowners delaying system changes due to slower home sales, while the transition to new refrigerants also influenced purchasing decisions. Carrier expects residential market conditions to remain weak in the first half of 2026 before improving later in the year, as inventories normalise and replacement demand begins to recover. For 2026, Carrier forecast reported revenue of around USD 22 billion (EUR 20.24 billion), with growth in commercial HVAC and aftermarket operations expected to offset continued softness in residential and light commercial demand.
