Byggmax Reports Sales Growth and Improvement in Profit Margins

Europe: Nordic home improvement retailer Byggmax Group has reported growth in sales and profitability, supported by increased customer visits, higher spending per transaction and improved sales volumes. According to its financial results released on 20 October 2026, the company's net sales increased by 7.1% to USD 210.5 million, compared with USD 196.5 million during the corresponding period in 2025. Its EBITA margin increased from 14.0% to 14.2%, while earnings per share rose by 18% to USD 0.39. Following the results announcement, the company's shares increased by 9.67% in pre-market trading.

Byggmax operates 210 stores across Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark, serving the home improvement and building materials markets. The company recorded a 5.1% increase in like-for-like sales, with Sweden contributing the highest regional growth. Currency movements accounted for 1.5 percentage points of total sales growth. The company attributed its performance to increased demand across several product categories and changes in customer purchasing activity. Commenting on the results, CEO Karl Sandlund stated, "We see that the growth is driven by volume. We have more customers and larger baskets, and several of our core categories developed positively," highlighting the factors contributing to the company's sales performance.
