South Korea: Busan has secured the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s 2026 Regional Strategic Industry Infrastructure Upgrade Project for its “Global Market-Responsive AI-Based HVAC Component Performance Evaluation Infrastructure Upgrade Project,” aimed at enhancing testing, certification, and export competitiveness for the HVAC machinery and parts industry. Running from 2026 to 2028, the project has a total budget of approximately USD 7.9 million, including about USD 4.8 million in state funding, USD 2.0 million in city funding, and USD 1.1 million in private investment. Led by Busan Techno Park in partnership with the Busan Machinery Industry Cooperative and the Korea Testing & Research Institute, the initiative will establish AI-based HVAC component performance evaluation, autonomous measurement, and pollutant analysis systems. The project is expected to reduce testing and certification costs and timelines while improving efficiency across product development, certification, commercialization, and global market entry for local manufacturers.
