Bosch to Launch Premium Air Conditioners in India, Plans EUR 80 Million Investment

India: Bosch Home Comfort Group plans to launch Bosch-branded air conditioners in India in 2027, targeting a strong double-digit market share within two years and aiming to become one of the country’s top five cooling and comfort brands. Following its acquisition of Johnson Controls-Hitachi’s global residential and light-commercial AC business in August 2025, the company will position Bosch in the premium and super-premium segments, while Hitachi will serve mainstream and mass-premium customers. It plans to invest EUR 80 million in India over the coming years to expand manufacturing capacity, localisation, engineering and testing capabilities, and light-commercial AC production. The Kadi, Gujarat facility has an annual capacity of more than 1 million units, while around 75% of procurement is sourced domestically and 25% through imports. The company will leverage Hitachi’s existing distribution and retail network for both brands.
