Beijer Ref acquires AMSCO Supply in North America
Beijer Ref has signed an agreement to acquire the assets of AMSCO Supply (“AMSCO”), a North American wholesale HVAC distributor. The company serves contractors in the Midwest and Southwest United States including Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Texas – territories adjacent to Beijer Ref’s current holdings in the US. AMSCO has annual sales of approximately SEK 500 million.
AMSCO Supply is a family-owned business with roots in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was founded in 1974. It has been in business for more than 45 years. The AMSCO team is made up of qualified individuals committed to provide solutions for various HVAC market segments, including commercial projects and residential add-on replacements. Strong ties exist between the business and the major US-based suppliers of Beijer Ref.
In terms of marketing and distribution, AMSCO will carry on with its current branding strategy. The business will continue to be run by the current management, who will roll over their investment onto Beijer Ref's US platform. On the group's performance and position, the acquisition is anticipated to have a marginally beneficial effect. About 50 people work for AMSCO Supply.
