Bangladesh's Walton Expands Air Conditioner Sales to Cameroon
BANGLADESH: Bangladesh’s AC brand Walton has expanded its air conditioner business into the Cameroonian market with the first shipment now delivered to the country in Central Africa. A prominent trading firm in Cameroon will handle the sale and marketing of Walton AC units. Walton’s Chief Business Officer, Md Tanvir Rahman, stated that the company is advancing its international presence with the ambition of becoming one of the leading global consumer electronics brands.
As part of this strategy, Walton is focusing on expanding its brand presence in key regions, including Europe, America, Africa, the Middle East, and other parts of Asia. The move into Cameroon is seen as a strategic step, with the company aiming to use it as a gateway to penetrate other African markets. Walton’s Global Business Division Vice-President, Abdur Rouf, highlighted that Walton AC stands out in the global market due to its advanced features, sleek designs, durability, and high quality, which have earned the brand growing trust from international customers.
Walton manufactures a wide range of air conditioners, including split, ceiling, cassette, chiller, and VRF models, at its plant in Chandra, Bangladesh. The company is also pioneering the use of globally recognized, environmentally friendly R290 gas, a natural hydrocarbon refrigerant with minimal environmental impact, in its AC units.
