MIDDLE EAST: Major South Korean companies, including Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor Company and LG Electronics, have temporarily suspended parts of their operations in the Middle East as security concerns escalate following tensions involving the United States, Israel and Iran.
The companies have prioritised employee safety by halting on-ground business activities in some areas and implementing contingency measures. Samsung has reportedly relocated some staff to neighbouring countries, while LG has advised employees to work remotely. The conflict intensified after military strikes on Iran triggered retaliatory attacks near US bases in countries such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Analysts warn that prolonged instability and rising oil prices could disrupt the expansion strategies of Korean firms across the Middle East and other emerging markets.
