Antora Energy to Replace Fossil Fuel Heating with Batteries

Antora Energy, a Bill Gates-backed business with a daring idea to create heat-storing batteries using solid graphite blocks, revealed that it will be establishing its first factory in San Jose, California. If the technology takes off, it might have a significant impact on reducing the use of fossil fuels in some of the most challenging industries in the world to decarbonize. Many industries, from the manufacture of paper to that of concrete, require a lot of heat, which is currently typically provided by fossil fuels like oil and natural gas. Electricity was simply too expensive a few years ago for a manufacturer to consider purchasing it and then converting it into heat (much like a toaster or convection burner).
