Air Conditioner Manufacturers are Counting on an Exceptionally Warm Summer to Increase Sales
INDIA: After two slow years, consumer appliance makers are hoping for a sales jump of 20-25% on refrigerators and air conditioners. Companies like Blue Star, Daikin, Godrej, and BSH are gearing up for a surge in demand if the weather heats up. However, there's a chance thing could cool down instead. Some experts worry that a big election year might make people hold off on buying expensive appliances like fridges and ACs. The India Meteorological Department has predicted that the summer months of March through May could be "unusually hot" across most parts of the country.
