Vietnam: Japan’s Tokyu Corporation is planning further growth for its Tokyu Garden City urban development in Binh Duong New City, north of Ho Chi Minh City, as part of ongoing efforts to expand large-scale mixed-use projects in Vietnam. The initiative, developed through a joint venture with Vietnamese partners, aims to build out residential, commercial, and community facilities in one of the region’s key growth zones, utilising urban planning experience brought from similar developments in Japan. The expansion reflects continued investor interest in Vietnam’s property sector amid wider economic and urbanisation trends in Southeast Asia.
Binh Duong New City, located approximately 30km from Ho Chi Minh City’s center, has served as the primary site for the Garden City project, which covers extensive areas of planned urban space. The further growth plans announced by Tokyu are expected to build on this framework, supporting long-term development and strengthening the area’s role within the region’s urban landscape.
