Germany: Viessmann Climate Solutions and Nassauische Heimstätte Group (NHW) have expanded their collaboration to support the transformation of heat supply in residential buildings across Hesse, Germany, through a cooperation agreement between Viessmann Climate Solutions and NHW’s subsidiary Medien-Energie-Technik GmbH (MET). The partnership aims to gradually replace existing fossil fuel-powered heating systems in rental buildings with renewable heating solutions, primarily heat pumps, while ensuring long-term efficiency, operational reliability, and cost-effectiveness. A key element of the agreement is a binding efficiency guarantee based on the Annual Performance Factor (APF), which measures the ratio of heat output to electricity consumption and provides greater investment and operational security for housing operators. NHW is one of Germany’s largest housing companies with around 61,000 rental apartments across 112 locations in Hesse will work with Viessmann Climate Solutions, part of Carrier Global Corporation, to integrate heat pump systems into existing buildings without requiring extensive modernization, using insights from real-world projects to support economical and reliable renewable heat generation.
