Uzbekistan Deepens Strategic Ties with ADB Through Multi-Billion Dollar Development Push

Uzbekistan: Uzbekistan has significantly strategic Ties with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), which has provided around UZS 1.2 quadrillion (US$14.6 billion) in funding through nearly 300 projects since 1995. This collaboration has supported key sectors including infrastructure, energy, healthcare, agriculture, and financial systems, contributing to the country’s ongoing economic reforms and sustainable development. Major initiatives include railway electrification, water supply improvements, renewable energy projects, and expansion of rural and social infrastructure.
Looking ahead, the ADB’s 2024–2028 strategy focuses on advancing green energy, digital water management, transport safety, and financial sector reforms, alongside investments in education and urban development. Uzbekistan is also set to host the 59th Annual Meeting of the ADB in Samarkand, bringing together global financial leaders and reinforcing the country’s growing regional and international economic role, particularly in driving cooperation across Central Asia.
