Italy: The threat of 50% tariffs on imports from the rest of the world has been averted, validating the cautious approach taken by Federlegnoarredo and other European operators. According to a ‘fact sheet’ published on the White House website, the Trump Administration has clarified that the new duties will not apply to imports from countries with which a global agreement has already been signed. As a result, imports from the European Union will continue to face the standard 15% Tariffs on Kitchen, Bathroom & Furniture, the same rate applied to imports from Japan. For the rest of the world, however, the tariff will be 25% from today, increasing to 50% from 1 January 2026.
