USA: Under the domestic policy legislation recently signed into law on 4 July by the Republican Party, federal tax credits of 30 percent for residential clean energy upgrades will expire on 31 December 2025. These credits, originally intended to remain in place through the 2030s, have supported cost reductions for consumers installing solar panels and other energy-efficient systems. For customers of a North Yarmouth-based solar firm, the change could lead to increased installation costs, with average prices expected to rise from approximately USD 15,000–20,000 to between USD 21,000–28,000. The removal of these incentives may affect the affordability of clean energy products in the near term and disrupt operations for businesses involved in their installation, though the broader sector is expected to remain operational.
