Ukraine Receives First US LNG Shipment in 2026
Ukraine

Ukraine: The country received its first shipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States in 2026, delivered through Poland, totaling nearly 100 million cubic meters, enough to supply around 700 000 households with gas for one winter month. The delivery comes amid cold winter conditions and ongoing disruptions to energy infrastructure during the war, with further US LNG shipments already contracted for February-March. Total US LNG supplies to Ukraine this year could reach up to 1 billion cubic meters, contributing to the stability of the energy system.

The LNG was received at an LNG terminal after regasification and is expected to support energy needs during extreme cold periods. The shipment highlights ongoing efforts to diversify Ukraine’s gas supply routes through Europe.
