UK Heat Pump Industry to Launch Unified Trade Body in 2026

UNITED KINGDOM: The UK heat pump sector will unite under a single trade body, Heat Pump Association UK (HPA UK), following a decision by members of the Heat Pump Association, Ground Source Heat Pump Association and Heat Pump Federation to merge. Launching in January 2026, the new organisation aims to provide a unified voice for low-carbon heating as the industry scales up deployment across domestic, commercial and industrial markets. With heating responsible for around a quarter of UK carbon emissions, the merger reflects the sector’s growing maturity and its role in improving energy security and reducing reliance on gas imports. The combined body will streamline governance, strengthen policy engagement and improve industry coordination. To support the transition, free membership is being offered to new members for the remainder of 2025.
