UK: The UK government has announced an expansion of its support for the heat pump sector through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS), the introduction of new consumer purchase options, and increased investment in workforce development. As part of this initiative, plans have been set out to train up to 18,000 professionals to deliver home retrofit services. These services include the installation of heat pumps, insulation, solar panels, and heat networks.
An additional GBP 5 million (approximately USD 6.2 million) will be allocated to extend the Heat Training Grant until March 2026. This funding is expected to support the training of 5,500 new heat pump installers and 3,500 heat network professionals. The measures are intended to increase industry capacity and provide consumers with more flexible choices in transitioning to low-carbon heating solutions.
