UK Government Announces the Country’s First Heat Network Zones
UK: Businesses and building owners in areas of England will benefit from low-cost, low-carbon heating after six towns and cities were chosen to create the country's first heat network zones. The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero has announced that ground-breaking proposals in Leeds, Plymouth, Bristol, Stockport, Sheffield, and two in London would get a share of GBP 5.8 million (USD 7.51 million) in government funding to create the zones, with building set to begin in 2026. The six chosen towns and cities are part of the government's strategy to speed up the delivery of heat networks across England in locations where zones are anticipated to be established in the future.
