UK: The UK economy is forecast to grow by 1.0% in 2025, according to finance minister Rachel Reeves, who referenced the latest projections from the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR). This new forecast is significantly lower than the previous 2.0% growth estimate for 2025, which was outlined in the OBR's outlook published in October 2024, when Reeves delivered her first full budget.
Looking further ahead, the OBR projects economic growth of 1.9% in 2026, followed by 1.75% growth over the remainder of the decade. These forecasts are higher than the OBR's previous expectations of 1.8% growth in 2026 and 1.5% growth in 2027.
