UAE Pledges USD 1.4 Trillion U.S. Investment Over 10 Years

UAE: A 10-year, USD 1.4 trillion investment framework had been committed to by the United Arab Emirates in the United States following high-level meetings in Washington, according to a White House statement. The framework had been aimed at significantly expanding UAE investments in key sectors including artificial intelligence, semiconductors, energy, and manufacturing. Though many deals had been previously announced, the only fully new initiative had been confirmed as Emirates Global Aluminium’s plan to build the first new aluminum smelter in the U.S. in 35 years, expected to nearly double the country’s domestic production.

A series of meetings and dinners involving top U.S. officials and UAE representatives, including heads of major sovereign wealth funds, had been conducted to finalize the agreement. Among the key projects highlighted had been a USD 25 billion U.S.-focused partnership between UAE’s ADQ and Energy Capital Partners to invest in energy infrastructure and data centers, and a commitment by ADNOC’s XRG to invest in the NextDecade LNG export facility in Texas—both of which had been previously announced. The UAE's move had aligned with its broader strategy to deepen U.S. investment ties while accelerating its shift from an oil-reliant economy to a leader in AI and advanced technology
