Thailand: Thailand has reinforced its position as a major hub in the global air conditioner manufacturing sector, producing an estimated 19 million units in 2024 and ranking third worldwide after China and Mexico. Export revenues rose by 9 percent to reach USD 7.044 billion, with the United States accounting for 35 percent of total shipments, followed by Europe, ASEAN countries, Australia, and Japan. The country’s production and export performance highlights its key role in supplying over 21 million window or wall units to international markets.
Thailand’s manufacturing base is supported by its strategic location, well-developed infrastructure, and the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), which hosts significant industrial clusters. In Rayong province alone, more than 3,000 factories employ nearly 200,000 workers in the HVAC and related industries, with further support from facilities in Chonburi and Chachoengsao, including the Laem Chabang port.
