THAILAND: Thailand economy grew 1.9% year-on-year in the Q2 2026, exceeding analysts’ median forecast of 1.7%. However, on a seasonally adjusted quarterly basis, GDP contracted by 0.2%, reflecting weak domestic consumption amid high household debt and rising living costs. The government has raised its 2026 growth forecast to 2.0–2.5%, compared with its previous range of 1.5–2.5%. Export growth is now projected at 15.1%, significantly higher than the earlier 9.6% forecast. Meanwhile, the central bank maintained its key interest rate at 1%, with the next policy review scheduled for August 26.
