Thailand/Vietnam: Authorities in Thailand have introduced energy saving measures aimed at reducing energy consumption in government offices following disruptions to oil supplies linked to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Public sector offices have been requested to maintain air-conditioning settings at 26 degrees Celsius and limit non-essential overseas travel. Government employees have also been encouraged to work remotely where possible in order to reduce fuel use and electricity demand.

In Vietnam, the government has removed import duties on several petroleum products in an effort to stabilise fuel supplies and domestic prices. Authorities have also encouraged businesses to allow remote work where feasible and advised citizens to reduce the use of private vehicles. Measures promoted by officials include increased use of public transport, cycling and carpooling to lower fuel consumption.
