Thai DIY Giant HomePro Cancels Vietnam Expansion, Cites Unfavourable Market Conditions
Vietnam: HomePro, the Thai DIY chain, has decided to abandon its plans to establish stores in Vietnam. The company announced the dissolution of its wholly owned subsidiary, Home Product Centre Vietnam Company Limited. Despite earlier efforts to test the Vietnamese market through an e-commerce channel and scouting potential locations for physical stores, HomePro concluded that expanding with brick-and-mortar stores is not feasible under the current investment climate. As a result, the company acknowledged an impairment loss of THB 21 million (approximately EUR 550,000).
