TCL marks the milestone of producing 100 million air conditioner units with the launch of a new smart factory

CHINA: TCL, a leading global technology firm, recently announced the launch of its new air conditioner smart factory in Guangzhou. The milestone coincides with the production of its 100 millionth air conditioner unit since 2021, underscoring the company’s focus on innovation and its expanding global presence. The new facility, built with an investment of nearly RMB 2 billion (around USD 290 million), has an annual production capacity of 8 million units and can manufacture one air conditioner every seven seconds.
Spread across 303 acres, the factory complex includes three fully automated 24-hour “lights-out” plants, 15 advanced laboratories, and 10 intelligent production lines. An AI-powered supercomputing center coordinates more than 2,000 AI agents along with a dense network of industrial robots, enabling end-to-end automated production of key components. Notably, an ultra-high-precision heat exchanger line leverages AI algorithms to boost operational efficiency by 41.7%.
