Tangshan Drives Hebei's Ceramic Export Boom with Customized Designs and Upgraded Production
China: Tangshan City, the "Porcelain Capital of North China," has driven a resurgence in Hebei Province's ceramic exports through production upgrades and customized designs for international clients. In the first 10 months of 2024, Hebei's ceramic exports reached 5.31 billion yuan (about $730 million USD), marking a 14.3% year-on-year growth and ranking sixth nationwide.
Tangshan, home to over 200 ceramic enterprises, exported ceramics worth 3.08 billion yuan ($420 million USD) in the first three quarters of 2024, achieving a 15.7% growth. Companies like Huida Sanitary Ware Co. and Tangshan Monopy Ceramic are leading the charge by focusing on tailored production, R&D, and direct client engagement.
Huida Sanitary Ware Co. recorded a 22% year-on-year increase in export sales, exceeding $100 million USD in the first 10 months. "We actively reach out to international markets and participate in influential trade shows to expand our client base," said Fu Lirong, director of Operations and Management.
Tangshan Monopy Ceramic pivoted from OEM to original design production, investing heavily in R&D to meet evolving customer requirements.
Tangshan's bone china products, recognized for their artistic and practical value, are also gaining global popularity. One factory producing over 2,000 varieties of bone china products is fulfilling rush orders for Türkiye and primarily exports to Russia and Italy.
Tangshan Customs has significantly streamlined export processes, implementing online applications, self-declarations of origin, and self-service printing of certificates. Zheng Chen, director of Tangshan Customs, stated, "We are promoting online declarations, intelligent reviews, and self-service printing of certificates, enabling rapid issuance and saving businesses considerable time and costs."
International buyers like Evandro Burgel from Brazil praise Tangshan’s innovative designs and quality, highlighting the region’s strong potential in the global market.
