USA: Product availability, competitive pricing, and timely, accurate delivery are the three most important factors HVAC contractors consider when choosing distributors, according to a recent survey.
The findings come as no surprise to Tim Fisher, director of research at Heating Air-conditioning & Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI). He noted that the survey, conducted by Farmington Consulting Group in collaboration with Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), aligns with insights HARDI has gathered through its annual Voice of the Contractor surveys. The Farmington Consulting–ACCA Contractor of the Future survey gathered responses from more than 1,000 HVAC contractors across the United States and was carried out last fall.
Among the factors evaluated, product availability ranked as the most important, followed by pricing and delivery service. Relationships with branch staff placed fourth, ahead of technical support, relationships with sales representatives, the brands of equipment offered, and online ordering capabilities, which ranked last.
