Stiebel Eltron To Increase Stake in Ochsner to 50%

Austria / Germany: Stiebel Eltron International plans to increase its shareholding in Austrian heat pump manufacturer Ochsner from 35% to 50%, following a notification submitted to the Austrian Federal Competition Authority on 16 October 2026. The two family-owned companies have maintained a partnership in the heat pump sector since 2013, including a joint venture focused on large-scale heat pumps. The proposed increase in ownership is not expected to affect Ochsner’s production locations or workforce in Austria. The company will continue to operate as an independent family business.
The increased shareholding is expected to support greater cooperation in production and joint purchasing. Both companies intend to use the partnership to strengthen their market positions amid competition from suppliers, including those based in Asia. Ochsner manufactures heat pumps for residential, commercial and industrial applications at its Austrian facilities, including its factory in Dietach, Upper Austria. Its product portfolio includes R290 air-to-water monobloc heat pumps introduced in 2026.
