India: Sternhagen, has opened its first flagship experience centre in Delhi, marking a significant step in its India growth journey. Conceptualized and engineered through its German subsidiary, the brand was created to fill a gap in artistic, design-driven bathroom products, built using distinctive 3D facets and Quartz a material positioned as more premium than ceramics. The company leverages German-engineered molds, materials, and processes to deliver products that cannot be replicated with ceramic technology. Already present in select locations through kitchen showrooms, the Delhi flagship now represents the brand’s true identity, aimed at design-conscious customers. Quartz products are manufactured locally, with the brand currently operating at 70% imported and 30% India-made materials, targeting 70–80% indigenization over the next three years. The company also supplies to leading global retailers and brands and is expanding manufacturing through new facilities in India.
Following Delhi, Sternhagen plans to open four company-owned, company-operated experience centres by next year, with locations identified in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, and potentially Bengaluru, firmly rejecting franchising or online retail to maintain design precision and brand control. The India strategy includes exclusive launches such as a heritage collection, alongside India-first Gold and Black collections in finishes like rose gold, yellow gold, gunmetal, and matte black, aligning with evolving consumer preferences. Emphasizing both luxury and accessibility, the brand aims to establish itself as India’s first global luxury bathroom label, supported by strong service commitments including 24-hour assistance via dedicated on-site service vans at each centre. While now present in the US, UK, UAE, and Australia, India remains the core focus, as the brand seeks to build a world-class luxury identity rooted firmly in the country.
