South Korea: KyungDong Navien and Kiturami, the two largest home boiler manufacturers in South Korea, are expanding their presence in the cooling market as part of efforts to diversify beyond heating. KyungDong Navien has entered the segment with the introduction of its Condensing Air Conditioner Hybrid, which offers cooling, dehumidification, and ventilation functions. The company is also preparing to launch its Condensing Hydro Furnace in the North American HVAC market and plans to introduce a heat pump based on inverter compressor technology. To support this expansion, KyungDong Navien is scaling up production capacity at its Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Seotan facility, with the aim of increasing annual output and adding new cooling-focused production lines by 2026.
Kiturami, meanwhile, is concentrating on strengthening its position in the residential air conditioner segment, particularly window type models. After entering the home window air conditioner market in 2020, the company has continued to expand its product range, supported by earlier acquisitions in the air conditioning sector. In April this year, Kiturami released an upgraded window type air conditioner featuring improved performance, efficiency, and maintenance functionality.
