India/USA: Sloan, a United States-based plumbing systems manufacturer, has acquired a controlling stake in Essel Bath Fittings to expand its presence in the Indian bath fittings market. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. The partnership aims to utilise Essel’s manufacturing capabilities and distribution network to address demand in both premium and mid-segment categories. Essel will continue to operate under its existing brand, while Sloan will focus on institutional, commercial and residential segments.
The company indicated that India will play a role in its manufacturing and export strategy, with plans to produce locally for both domestic and international markets. The combined entity is expected to expand its market presence over the coming years, supported by growth in housing and urbanisation. The partnership also aims to integrate technology and product development capabilities into the Indian market, while expanding exports to regions including the Middle East, Southeast Asia and other international markets.
