United Kingdom: Samsung Electronics is supplying heat pump air conditioning systems for a residential redevelopment project in Cornwall, England. The project involves the transformation of a former mining site of around 2 million square metres into the West Carclaze Garden Village, which is expected to include housing, schools, hospitals and community facilities by 2035. The company will provide residential heating and hot water solutions based on heat pump systems as part of the development.
The supply includes Mono R290 and Mono R32 systems, which use refrigerants with lower global warming potential. In addition to HVAC systems, Samsung Electronics will provide household appliances connected through its SmartThings platform, along with the SmartThingsPro system for energy management in shared facilities. The project aligns with broader adoption of heat pump technologies in line with carbon reduction policies in Europe.
