Samsung Plans Nationwide Rollout of Integrated Heat Pump in Korea

South Korea: Samsung Electronics plans to expand domestic distribution of its EHS All-in-One heat pump for apartments and other multi-family housing in South Korea. The system provides cooling, floor heating and hot water from a single outdoor unit and uses heat recovery technology to reuse waste heat generated during cooling for hot water production. Samsung plans to establish a domestic supply base by 2027 and begin a nationwide rollout in 2028–2029.
The company is conducting demonstrations in residential settings on Jeju Island and at Samsung C&T’s Residential Performance Research Institute in Yongin to assess energy consumption, operating noise and system performance. Samsung is also working with construction companies on installation and design standards, while planning to localise key components, expand domestic production and train installation professionals. The initiative forms part of South Korea’s government target to deploy 3.5 million heat pumps by 2035 and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 5.18 million tonnes.
